Hongsun Henny Choe

Henny Choe is Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ignitus Group, where he leads the firm's investment and operating strategy. He brings more than a decade of real estate experience across credit, acquisitions, and asset management.

Henny began his career as a credit analyst at a regional commercial bank, underwriting commercial real estate loans. Watching investors and developers create lasting value for their communities — and build wealth doing it — he knew he wanted to be on that side of the table. That conviction took him to New York, where he earned his graduate degree and sharpened his perspective on real estate investing while working alongside top-tier institutional firms.

He went on to spend nine years as a Vice President at Gaw Capital USA, a private equity real estate firm, deploying institutional capital into U.S. real estate on behalf of domestic and global investors. He directed the full investment lifecycle — leading acquisitions, dispositions, and asset management — and drove value creation across a portfolio of more than $1 billion spanning multiple asset classes.

In 2026, Henny co-founded Ignitus Group in Los Angeles on the belief that buildings are more than investment vehicles: at their best, they create lasting value for communities and guests alike. He pairs institutional-grade investment discipline with hands-on, ground-level execution, and views real estate as ultimately a service business — one where the best returns come from understanding how people want to live, today and tomorrow, and delivering with care.

Henny holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from Emory University, where he double-majored in Applied Mathematics and Economics.
